Tributes to Fallen Heroes

Tributes to fallen heroes of the Liberian community and OLICON family. Mr. Lawrence Ogbaji Yegwa Longest-serving Commandant of Oru Liberian Refugee Camp, Ijebu, Ogun State. Appointed in 1995, he led over 10,000 refugees until the camp closed in 2007. He partnered with UNHCR, the Red Cross, and others; oversaw repatriation and resettlement; and passed away on 27 March 2026. Madam Joecelia Monica Queepnn Former National VP for Gender and Social Welfare. Remembered for selflessness, wisdom, and loyalty to OLICON, and for standing firm for the unity and dignity of Liberians in the diaspora. Mr. Ram Myers Former Chairman, Anambra State, and Former Regional Coordinator, Eastern Region. Remembered as a vibrant leader who gave his time and energy to uplift the community and strengthen a united OLICON. Also remembered in the souvenir programme among Lifetime Achievement / memorial profiles: • Late Dr. Omar Abdallah Dukuly (returned to his Lord on 1 September 2025) • Late Mr. Prince N.
